so this is an updates tab
I’m trying to save up for an iPad so I can make art when away from my computer. In order to save up, I’m opening a YCH pinup sale.
Poses are not gender-locked. They are more so there to represent different body builds.

it’s almost as if Tolkien knew what he was talking about
It’s almost as if Tolkien personally witnessed one of the bloodiest wars in human history and then used that to fuel his writing.
Seein’ too many Twitter refugees asking if they’ll get in trouble for saying “kill yourself” to people and while no, you’re not gonna get nuked from orbit, that is maybe something you just shouldn’t be doing in general perhaps?? Maybe telling people to kill themselves is bad actually?? Some of y'all are wild, why is the first thing you can think to ask on a new platform if you can send one of the worst kinds of harassment to people?? Grow tf up and learn how to use the block button. It’ll do wonders for your mood, trust me.
I want to make this absolutely clear to kids: children didn’t used to be stuck inside the house like you are today. There used to be public places you could hang out. It used to be fairly safe to walk around because trucks weren’t designed to kill children. You didn’t need a car to go anywhere so kids without a license weren’t trapped. There weren’t 24/7 cable news networks constantly scaring parents with anecdotes even as crime was at all time lows and the biggest danger comes from adults kids know not strangers.
It’s easy to ignore old people talking about “the good ol’ days” because a lot of the people saying that shit are racist assholes, but the way society treats kids today really is objectively worse than how kids used to be treated. You deserve better, and you should know that better things are possible. We just need to kill the suburbs and for-profit news.
Please take a comforting realistic affirmation and pass it on (again. This time for a week :] )
You are doing what you can. It is enough.
It has been okay before, It will be okay again.
You don’t have to love yourself. First, you just have to not hate yourself.
You’re special because you’re the only you, not the only one feeling this.
Know that you can’t save everyone. Remember that you can try.
This too shall pass.
You are capable of so much more than you think.
You are not a failure. No matter what.
Treating yourself with kindness is harder than it sounds. But don’t give up.
You’re doing so well. I’m so proud of you.*
See Results*it may not seem like I can be, but seeing that someone needed to hear it and so they let me say it makes me so so proud. It’s a bit of an oroboros but we’re ignoring that. <3
Normalize people with chronic illness taking sick days, coming in late, cancelling plans, not being able do do something in time. People’s illness should not be held against them like a threat and people should not act surprised if someone who is chronically ill aczually falls ill. This is not “we are ok with you as long as your illness is under control and you function normally” this is “we are aware that you are chronically ill and will actually show understanding when your illness keeps you from performing”.
Tumblr Migration 2: Reddit Boogaloo
We all know about the Twitter immigrants, but there seems to be radio silence on what’s happening now with Reddit users from certain subreddits doing a similar thing.
What’s happening?
Reddit is restricting their API later this month and killing off third-party apps. An AMA (Ask Me Anything) with the CEO Steve Hoffman was held and it was clear that he would continue with the changes.
In protest, thousands of subreddits across the site are planning to go dark for 48 hours on June 12th. Some are planning to continue indefinitely until the changes are reversed.
Okay, so how does this affect Tumblr?
Some subreddits (mainly queer and left-leaning meme ones, don’t worry too much about Reddit Atheists™ overrunning us) are encouraging their users to jump ship to our beloved - and beloathed - hellsite. There will be another influx of new users and many will be unfamiliar with how the site works.
What do us Tumblr users do?
Show them how to use the site; introduce them to the site’s culture, tell them to reblog shit and curate their dashboard. Sorta like how we welcomed Twitter users back when they flocked here. Kungpowpenising optional.
I’m new from Reddit, what do I do here?
CHANGE YOUR PROFILE PICTURE AND BANNER TO SOMETHING OTHER THAN DEFAULT BECAUSE THIS SITE IS FILLED WITH BOTS AND YOU MIGHT BE MISTAKEN FOR ONE. This is the FIRST thing you should do after getting a blog.
Other folks can help you with stuff like curating your dashboard or creating sideblogs (or you can look shit up) but please, PLEASE just give yourself an icon and reblog some stuff so people don’t mistake you for a bot
This is one of the first posts I’ve seen after trying to look at Tumblr again, so I’ve decided to head their advice and reblog this. I don’t even know what a reblog is but I’ll find out in time. It’s a learning process
a reblog is what you just did! it’s similar to a retweet on twitter and it’s the main way things spread on tumblr
Practical tip for those dealing with wildfire smoke now: you can make a very effective air filter for a reasonable amount of money using a box fan & one of those filters meant for your furnace.
Also, I’ve managed to pick up 2 of the box fans for very cheap/free from yard sales. Make sure you get a filter rated for wildfire smoke, I think this one cost about $20.
These make a huge difference in the indoor air quality.
Posting again because of the fire situation up in Canada and resulting smoke. If you’re dealing with wildfire smoke, these are surprisingly effective and relatively cheap.
Just tape the filter to the fan, making sure the air can’t sneak around the edges. I used painter’s tape, but I’m sure duct tape or similar would work just as well.
once again
If you have a Costco card, I saw a 3 pack for $30 in the PNW area.
